Legends of Folk in Rotherham / A Great Weekend Ahead

A Warm welcome to the wave of New Folks who have joined us over the past couple of weeks.

This is our end of the week Update with what's going on around the Rotherham and South Yorkshire Acoustic scene.

Folkies of a certain age will be thrilled to see that The Haughton Weavers and Mike Harding will be visiting The Civic in Rotherham in February and March respectively.  Both are likely to be sell outs.  Links to Booking and price details can be found on our Diary and Listings pages for those Months.  HERE

It's another busy weekend ahead.  Tonight Philip Cockerham is playing Leeds with full support, and it's the first of The Huntsman's Blue Grass Nights of the year with the Sheaf River Band hosting.

Friday see's Florin kicking off their New Year Partying at the Dadar Bar in Sheffield, while at The Bridge Rotherham ROMP, that's them there poets, are holding an Open Meeting followed by an Open Mic Poetry Session.  (And if you've not been to one of these, it's well worth a visit.)

Saturday, and besides the usual events, The Civic in Rotherham welcomes Film back to the Town with a showing of Disney's Enchantment at 2:00pm and on Sunday Paul Pearson with a full support programme is in action at The Red House.

All the deatils along with all the regular sessions and Clubs HERE

Pete tells me that last week's Thursday's Crookes Folk Club was a full house.  He's put together a great programme for the late Winter Months - check out the Guest line ups HERE

More Festivals are being added to the Festival Page every day.  Remember this is to help you not only plan out your weekends for the year ahead but also to take advantage of the many early booking deals that are available.  HERE

That's it.  Whatever you're doing this weekend have fun, support local music and keep it live.
